Meet Dr. T, Ascent’s New Naturopath

Posted 1 year ago on

Hi everyone,
My name is Dr. T or you can simply call me T.

I am a licensed and board-certified Naturopathic Doctor serving the community of Calgary and its surrounding areas. I am very excited to be joining the healthcare team at Ascent Integrative Health and I look forward to continuing to provide naturopathic services for old patients as well as introducing naturopathic medicine to prospective patients.
Personally, naturopathic medicine is a lifestyle medicine. It is a system that blends the art and science of medicine with a heavy emphasis on prevention and natural therapies to improve patient quality of life. Similar to medical doctors, I offer consultations to understand my patient’s current and past medical history, perform physical examinations (general screening and complaint-oriented), requisition and interpret laboratory findings (conventional labs and special labs). The biggest difference is how I formulate my treatment plans. Every treatment plan is individualized because I believe every patient is unique and requires unique considerations and explorations. I follow an evidence-informed practice, but I will use pre-clinical research when necessary (e.g., human studies are not yet available).

A big part of my family practice is also educating my patients about their health, the treatment options that are available (conventional and naturopathic), and empowering my patients to be a health advocate for themselves as achieving health and wellness is an ongoing commitment and not something that can be fixed overnight. I use the following modalities alone or in combination to support my patients’ health: Acupuncture/ Traditional Chinese Medicine, Botanical Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathic Medicine, Physical Medicine, Lifestyle Modifications, Counselling, Intramuscular injections, Intravenous therapy, and Minor surgery.

I have a genuine passion for and strive to support my patients’ health in all realms – mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I hope to create a non-judgmental space for you to share your stories, to be heard, and to heal from the inside out.

Kind regards,

Dr. T
