Chad Piper

Physiotherapy, IMS/Dry Needling, Exercise Therapy

A long list of injuries led Chad to become interested and passionate in their rehabilitation and prevention, which drove him to become a physiotherapist. As such, he is interested in working with people active in similar sports due to a unique perspective as both a competitor and much too often, a patient. He has a great deal of experience in the management and prevention of knee injures, particularly in skiers, and is currently developing his skills in the treatment of low back pain due to how much it can impact people’s ability to live an active lifestyle.

Chad’s approach is an evidence-based combination of manual therapy, corrective exercises and education, working with patients to create a personal and individualized treatment plan. Chad believes that active participation from both therapist and patient is essential to rehabilitation and injury prevention and is looking forward to helping people on their journey back to the mountains, the mat or the gym.

Chad has experience in a variety of sports, beginning with martial arts like jiu jitsu, muay thai and wrestling. Now, Chad can be found more often in the mountains: climbing up them and skiing down them. Most of Chad’s time is spent lifting, running, backcountry ski touring and climbing.

Chad was born and raised in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary, where he attained a Bachelor of Science from Mount Royal University. He completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at University of Alberta.
