Shockwave’s main benefits are fast pain relief and healing of acute, chronic or stubborn soft tissue injuries. It is an ideal therapy to speed up recovery and improve conditions related to tendons, ligaments and muscles.
The Ascent Approach
Our /Approach starts with getting you out of pain quickly, we then help you gain mobility and control so you can move better, after that we focus on building injury resilience so you can stay active for the long term.
We utilize shockwave therapy in our treatment toolbox to help treat chronic and sub-acute conditions.
Shockwave therapy, or extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute and chronic conditions. During a shockwave treatment the energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.
These are some of the conditions commonly treated by shockwave therapy:
- Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs
- Achilles Tendonitis/tendonopathy
- Retrocalcaneal Bursitis
- Lateral Epicondylosis (Tennis Elbow)
- Medial Epicondylosis (Golfer’s Elbow)
- Calcific Tendonitis (supraspinatus tendon, etc.)
- Patellar Tendinosis (Jumper’s Knee)
- Morton’s Neuroma
- Chronic Stress/Non-union Fractures
- Shin Splints
- IT Band Syndrome
