Post Surgery Program
Surgery is often only the first step to returning to a normal active life. Speed up your recovery with a tailored rehabilitation program from our expert physio team!
Why Ascent for Post Surgery Rehabilitation?
Recovering from an orthopedic surgery is often a slow and ongoing process. How fast you recover depends on the type of surgery you had, your commitment to working closely with your physiotherapist, and getting back to moving well. Our goal is to support you in reaching your maximum potential for recovery, and to help you return to your pre-injury level of work, sport, and recreational activities. Your physiotherapist will guide you through a personalized rehabilitation program tailored to your specific surgery.
Post Surgery Program Overview
The Post Surgery Program is eligible to individuals who have had a surgery in the last 3 months and are looking for post surgery rehabilitation support. The Ascent post surgery program is an upfront flat rate of $160.
- Initial 1 hour assessment
- Two (2) 30 minute follow up sessions
- A detailed home exercise program for you to continue on your own.
If you would like to continue working with your physiotherapist beyond the three visits included in the program this is definitely an option as part of our regularly billed treatments. (Note: the clinic is not affiliated with the AHS post surgery program)
Pre Surgery Care
There is also evidence supporting seeing a physiotherapist before the surgery to help improve recovery time as well. Leading up to your surgery, your physiotherapist can help you build the appropriate muscles and prepare your body to bounce back, faster.
As soon as you have a surgery booked, we encourage you to book an 15 min virtual consult with a physiotherapist in the clinic to discuss whether physiotherapy can be of assistance pre or post-surgery.
Our clinic is also equipped with braces and products to help with your rehabilitation.
In our clinic, we will help our patients rehabilitate and recover from various orthopaedic surgeries. Listed here are a few:
- Total knee replacement
- Knee surgeries (i.e. ACL reconstruction, Meniscectomy)
- Patellar reconstruction
- Hip replacement and hip arthroscopy
- Shoulder surgeries (i.e. rotator cuff, sub-acromial decompression, instability repair, and labral/SLAP repair
- Spinal surgeries (ie. discectomy, laminectomy.
