Youth Athlete Program
Do you know a youth athlete who could benefit from a fitness assessment, learn about injury prevention strategies, or be treated for problems that need rehabilitation? The Ascent Team has them covered!
Book in your youth athlete today!
Recovery and preventative care can be provided at Ascent Health with a focus on the athletes sport-specific demands.
As youth athletes develop and the competitive drive takes over it can expose them to more opportunity for acute injury and increase risk for overuse injuries. This is especially true as athletes begin to specialize in a specific sport.
Examples include, volleyball players and shoulder injuries from overhead work, soccer players and hamstring injuries from sprinting and changing directions, or hockey players with hip and groin pain from skating.
All of our practitioners here at Ascent can work with youth athletes from all sports, from dance, basketball, track and field, swimming, tennis, squash, skiing, snowboarding and more.
Common youth sport injuries
- Apophysitis (Osgood Schlatter, sever’s, little league elbow)
- Ligament sprains
- Muscular strains
